You will be designing rockets that can transport an astronaught to the moon and back safelly. Your team will have 4 people in each group. You will need to do the following:
1. Decide on a company name and logo
2. Take roles in the group:
- Engineer: Designs the rocket shape and functional parts. The engineern needs to think about steering and control as well as propulsion.
- Historian: Will be the expert on the history of rockets. This person will label the drawn rockets design on the large white paper with the type of historical rockets (and dates) that is on the new rocket.
- Physicist: In charge of numbers. The physicist will give realistic numbers for all aspects of the rocket including cost, size, mass, thrust ratio, and any other numbers needed.
- Medical Specialist: Will design the interior of the rocket so that humans can safely live for the amount of time needed for a lunar mission.
3. Todays jobs:
On your blog:
- Engineer: Use 123D design or paper to design a workable rocket. All rocket parts need to be labled and prepared. Be ready to draw, and re-draw over and over according to group recomendations.
- Historian: On your blog, make a post about the history of rockets and rocket designs.
- Physicist: Rocket numbers. What is the tallest? How about the heaviest? How much thrust should a rocket have? How long will a mission take? Think of other questions.
- Medical Specialist: Make a list of supplies and parts needed to keep people alive for the lunar mission. You can not draw and design the inside of the rocket until the engineer has finished their design.
